Christmas: Ndidi, Iheanacho, teammates visit hospital

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho joined their Leicester City teammates handed out gifts to youngsters at the Leicester Royal Infirmary as part of their annual Christmas visit on Wednesday.

The Club’s first team players including Ndidi and Iheanacho handed out gifts, which they contributed to.

The entire first team squad had the opportunity to meet children who this Christmas may have to spend their holidays in hospital due to the difficulties they face with their health.

They visited five different sections of the Leicester Royal Infirmary, meeting patients and their parents on the surgical, neurology, medical, cancer and day care wards.

“We come down here every year and it’s always a joy to see all the children and put a smile on their faces,” skipper Wes Morgan told LCTV.

“They’re really happy to see us. Even the staff as well are pretty happy and pretty excited when we come along.

“Obviously, we’ve brought some gifts and we just want to put a smile on some of their faces here at the hospital.

“We know it’s a tough time of the year, but even just spending a few minutes with them to talk with them, we know it means a lot to them and from our point of view, we’ve got families ourselves, so we know how hard it can be for people with children that are in the hospital, especially over Christmas.

“It’s the little bits that we can do that mean a lot to other people.”
