A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and Philanthropist in Southern Kaduna, Engineer Joseph Chiroma, weekend, led hundreds of supporters of the PDP who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jema’a Local Government Area Of Kaduna state.
Speaking at the event which took place at Government Secondary School Asso, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Hajia Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe congratulated Engineer Chiroma and the other decampees for the seeing the need to join the party to move not just their communities forward, but the state and the country as a whole.
The deputy governor reaffirmed the state government under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani’s to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people without segregation.
She then appealed to the people of Jema’a Local Government Area to give their support to the APC chairmanship flag bearer for the forth coming Local Government elections Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, and all the councillorship candidates of the party.
Receiving the defectors on behalf of the APC, the chairman of the party in the LGA Alhaji Ibrahim Koli, congratulated them for taking the bold step.
Alhaji Koli observed that the way and manner people are decamping from other parties to APC in Southern Kaduna ¹is a sign that the politics of the zone is taking a turning point in the lives of the people.
Speaking on behalf of other defectors, Chiroma stated that he decided to join the ruling party not to contest for any political position, but owing to his desire to fastract democratic dividends driven in Governor Sani’s sustain agenda, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda to his community.
