Mali has expressed its solidarity with Nigeria where more than 200 schoolgirls were abducted about a month ago by Boko Haram insurgents.
Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita was speaking on behalf of his country while receiving on Friday Hassan Tukur, the Nigerian Ambassador to Mali.
They discussed the good relations between Mali and Nigeria and the willingness of both countries to work together to eradicate terrorism and intolerance in the West African region.
The Malian President discussed with the Nigerian envoy recent developments, following the abduction of the more than 200 girls by Boko Haram.
During the meeting, President Keita reiterated the solidarity of the Malian people and government towards the people of Nigeria “in this unacceptable and intolerable event’’.
“All we can do is to fight and eradicate this plague,” Keita said. (PANA/NAN)
