Chelsea set to boost attacking option with a Nigerian

Fifteen days before the winter transfer January window opens, Chelsea have begun plans to boost their attacking options.
The Blues who recently had their transfer ban lifted by Court of Arbitration for Sports CAS are planning on making a move for a Nigerian, Josh Maja.
According to 90mins Magazine, Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard is looking for a forward that will provide competition for Tammy Abraham, and he believes Maja is the man.

The 20-year-old joined Bordeaux from Sunderland last January but has found himself in and out of the team. While he has made 16 appearances for Les Girondins this season, just five have been starts.
However, despite his lack of starts, Maja has scored six times in all competitions for Paulo Sousa’s team. Three of those came in the 6-0 drubbing of Nimes on December 3, 2019.

With this kind of form, Lampard has identified his as a perfect cover for Tammy Abraham especially when forward Giroud set to leave Stamford Bridge this winter, the club are looking to bring in reinforcement in the striking department.
Aside from Tammy Abraham, Chelsea’s strikers have struggled so far with Batshuayi failing to convince Lampard in games he has played this season.
Chelsea currently sit in fourth place with 29 points, but they are just three points ahead of Tottenham who they meet on Sunday.
