Chelle: New Super Eagles to earn $50,000 monthly

Newly-appointed Super Eagles Eric Chelle is expected in Nigeria on Sunday to begin his reign as head coach  of the Super Eagles.

Chelle is expected in Abuja on Sunday to finalise details of his contract with several media report claiming that the coach will earn a monthly salary of $50,0000 about N85m (Eight five million naira).

Chelle’s assistants will get $5,000 each as their salary.

The 47-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Januar, 2025.

The 47-year-old was named new Super Eagles head coach by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday night.

The Malian was previously in charge of the Algerian club, MC Oran.

His trusted assistants worked with him during his reign in charge of the Malian national team, the Eagles.

The trio were also with Chelle during his time with MC Oran.

He is also expected to work with local assistants picked by the NFF.

His first major assignment with the Super Eagles will be 2024 African Nations Championship.

The former Mali international has been handed the onerous task of ensuring the Super Eagles qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and USA.

The Super Eagles are winless in Group C after four games.

Super Eagles will be away to the Amavubi of Rwanda when the qualifiers resume in March, 2025.
