People Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum at the weekend condemned the killing of innocent children in the North East by the Boko Haram sect and called on security chiefs in the country to immediately work out new strategies to combat the insurgence and curtail the ugly situation.
The governors, in a communique issued at the end of the forum meeting in Minna, Niger state capital, described as barbaric the slaughter of innocent school children in Yobe state by the sect, adding that there was urgent need to stop the killings.
Reading the communiqué, the chairman of the forum and Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Dr. Godswill Akpabio, commended the efforts of various security agencies in their fight against the Boko Haram insurgence.
However, he urged them to, as a matter of urgency, come out with a new approach to tackle the insurgence in order to stop the senseless killing of Nigerians.
