Chief of Defence staff (CDS), Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin has charge  participants of the Advanced Joint Operations Planning course to use the training to equip themselves and gain skills required for both vertical and horizontal integration  planning during execution of joint operations.

The CDS gave the charge during the closing ceremony of the Advanced Joint Operations Planning Course held at the Nigeria Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
Represented by Air Vice Marshal Magayi, Gen. Olonisakin the participants should keep their notes as they would need it to form the nucleus of planning at the operational and strategic levels.
Earlier in his remark, one of the resource persons,  Real Air Force Mark Tillyard of British Military Advisory Training Term, said  the two weeks course, which covered intelligence, command and  decision making processes, was to help the commandant make most informed decision and apply such  at planning stages, and to roll out the execution to become a reality.

“He said when faced with real situations, participants should always take into consideration, at the planning stage, the most vulnerable members in the society, such as women and children, as well as the non-governmental organisations (NGO’s) that support them in conflict areas.
The CDS urged participants to apply  lessons learnt at the workshop when faced with real security situations.
