Following their unimpressive performance in the maiden edition of the competition, the African soccer governing body is set to drop the Nigerian champions Enyimba International from the next edition of the African Football League.
Eight teams including Enyimba International started the competition last year but the People’s Elephant suffered a humiliating defeat to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
The football body in the continent has started readiness for the next edition of the competition.
The President of CAF Patrice Motsepe has begun a conversation with more sponsors to invest in the competition.
According to the update from the competition department of CAF, all the teams that participated in the maiden edition will be retained but the Nigerian representative, Enyimba will be dropped.
The body has yet to announce to the team who will take their position and they are also nursing the ambition of increasing the teams.
