The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that its Secretary-General Veron Mosengo-Omba has been absolved of fraud allegation.
CAF disclosed this via a statement on its official website.
“The Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided that it will stop investigations against Confederation Africane de Football (“CAF”) Secretary General, Veron Mosengo-Omba as they found no facts or legal basis to initiate legal proceedings.
“In November 2024, Veron Mosengo-Omba voluntarily travelled to Fribourg Switzerland to answer questions relating to the preliminary investigations.
“CAF welcomes the decision of the Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office and is pleased that there continues to be adherence and compliance within CAF and the CAF Secretariat with the culture and commitment to ethics, transparency and governance that was introduced since the Presidency of Dr Patrice Motsepe.”
Before emerging CAF’s general secretary, Mosengo-Omba worked at FIFA.
