Bye election: Zamfara APC to take INEC, IGP to court

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Zamfara state branch has concluded arrangements to take Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Inspector General of Police to court of law to challenge the just concluded Bakura Local Government State Assembly bye conducted by the Commission.

This was made known by the state publicity secretary of the APC, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji at a press conference Thursday, at the state secretariat of the APC in Gusau, the state capital.

He accused INEC of compromised and doing the bidding of the Peoples Democratic Party during the election.

He said some members of PDP have been arrested by the Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC Sokoto Zonal Office for alleged votes buying.

“The All Progressive Congress APC confidently joined the race because of its conviction that there will be recourse to the laid down rules and regulations by the major stakeholders such as INEC and security agencies in the exercise”. Birnin Magaji stated.

Blueprint recalled that the state chapter of the APC had boycotted the supplementary election for Bakura Local Government State Assembly after cancellation of 14 polling units results during last Saturday election due to what the commission described as violence and over voting in the affected polling units.
