Burdugau community suffering neglect

Burdugau Community in Malumfashi local government of Katsina state is lacking basic amenities and yet to enjoy dividend of democracy. One of the most important requests of our people is the construction of road networks that will link us with four local governments, namely, Bakori, Funtua, Faskari and Kankara.

The community has made several entreaties to the state government, pleading for the construction of an access road which would start from Mararrabar Kankara to Unguwar Gambo to Burdugau to new Kakumi to Guga and finally to Bakori road but to no avail.

The Mararrabar Kankara to Burdugau road was constructed in 1980 by former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, as a feeder road before the creation of Katsina state but since then nothing has been done to the road.

Ninety percent of both food and cash crops are produced in the area as we have an arable land that can feed the nation but I wonder why government left us behind without access road that can help our teeming farmers to bring their produce to nearby market without difficulty.

Are we not part of Katsina state? Where are our lawmakers? Are we not entitled to get dividend of democracy from our state government?
Another common problem we are facing is Katsina state government has refused to complete our primary health care center which has reached about sixty percent completion but remain abandoned since 2008.

I want to appeal to Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari to come to the aid of Burdugau community and visit our area to see how we have been suffering an untold hardship due to previous government’s neglect

Sanusi Muhammad Burdugau,
