The federal government weekend appointed a new managing director for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) following the removal of the immediate former helmsman, Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, who was appointed on 20th of May, 2019.
Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, Saturday, replaced Yadudu with Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, who until his new assignment was the Regional Airport Manager, North Central at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and manager of the Abuja Airport.
Industry players described the appointment as a round peg in a round hole as Kabir is expected to bring over two decades of experience to pilot the affairs of the agency.
The minister has embarked on a frenzied bazaar of contract awards and sorting of projects approval by the Federal Executive Council at the tail end of his office while multiple sources confirmed that he had completed plans to sack the Chief Executive Officers of NCAA, NSIB, NiMet and NAMA before vacating office.
He also said tob about to carry out a major shake -up that will affect close to 40 directors in the agencies under the ministry.
