Brown Ideye poised to silence critics

West Bromich Albion striker Brown Ideye is desperate to mute his social media critics stating he has what it takes to achieve success in the English Premier League.
The Nigeria forward has yet to prove his mettle since joining the Baggies and despite being the club’s record signing.
He has only made Alan Irvine’s squad in the last two games having just played twice for the Hawthorns’ giants since his move from Dynamo Kiev.

“A lot of people are writing on my Instagram and Twitter page saying ‘you’re s***’ or ‘you’re not worth the money’,” Ideye told Birminghammail.
“You can’t criticise me, I’ve not been playing. How can you criticise somebody who has not been playing?
“I have found it difficult but people can’t criticise, pull me down or have a gun at my head for not playing. I don’t think that is fair.

“It makes me stronger and makes me want to bounce back as quickly as possible,” he said.
“I know the money spent for me to be here but I’m not even talking about the money.
“I just want to show the world and everybody that I can do it.
“I have been doing it since the first club I played [for] in Europe and I have never been a flop.
“You can ask all the clubs I have played at. I have been one of the best in the club so I don’t think I will have problems here, continued Ideye.

With West Brom’s recruitment set-up the operating in a collaborative manner, the Super Eagles forward insists he is comfortable with that – and he promised to battle for the chance to show what he can do.
“I’m not surprised about that. He may not have seen me play live but other people that brought me here have.
“They know what I can do for them to spend such an amount on a player. To spend that you need to know what a player can do.

“I wouldn’t go to a market and buy a laptop and not know anything about it.
“I am just unlucky, it was unfortunate I got injured and when I was out the team was doing very well.
“I am a West Brom player so I have to support every bit of that and I am cool with it.
“As for me I just have to bounce back as fast as possible because right now a lot of people are expecting a lot from me.

“It’s too early to start thinking about transfer or loan so I am here to give my all, here to fight, I am here to fight for my space or a role in the team or first XI. I don’t think there is a problem with that,” he concluded.
