Breaking: Uneasy calm as Shiite protesters launch attack, clash with police, 2 feared dead

Police operatives have clashed with the members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, which has resulted in the burning of police vehicles in Wuse District of Abuja, on Sunday.

No fewer than than two persons were said to have been killed while several others sustained gunshot injuries.

Also, police patrol vehicles deployed to the scene have been burnt down as the police battle the Shiites in the area.

Motorists who are plying the routes have since reverted to alternative routes to avoid being killed and have their vehicles damaged.

FCT police command spokesperson Josephine Adeh when contacted confirmed the incident and promised to respond with a statement shortly.
