Breaking: Super Falcons defeat Australia, top group B

Nigerian Super Falcons came from behind to defeat the co-host of the 2023 Women World Cup, Australia.

The win put Falcons on the brink of Round of 16.

Nigeria came from a goal down to defeat Australia 3-2 in a Group B Women’s World Cup game played at Brisbane Stadium on Thursday.

The Super Falcons came into the match aware they had to avoid defeat to stand a chance of making it out of the group.

The win put the Super Falcons on top of Group B with four points, the same as Canada who defeated the Republic of Ireland 2-1 and drew 0-0 with Nigeria.
