Breaking: One shot dead, others injured in Jos on Sallah day

There has been palpable tension in Bukuru town, Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau state, as joint security taskforce of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), allegedly shot dead one trader, and injured two other persons, Monday afternoon.

The Youth leader of Bukuru Community, Bello Muhammad, who confirmed the killing to Blueprint correspondent, said the incident occured around 2:00pm local time.

“Our people have been going about their normal business, when suddenly some armed men who are the security taskforce of the JMDB, that have been going round and pursuing marketers, shot three of our people.

“They killed Nasiru Musa Aliyu, two others have been injured,” he said.

The deceased father, Musa Aliyu, said his son 30-year-old, was a handset telephone seller, and was shot dead.

“I am the father of Muhammad Nasiru. Yesterday (Sunday), they went to the site where late Nasiru and others were selling handsets and they destroyed his cardboard made of classes, and as he went to the market today (Monday), I was called and informed that he and others were shot, and Nasiru had died,” the father said.
