Breaking: Oduwa, Onah elected speaker, deputy for Ebonyi 7th Assembly

Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa of Ikwo south constituency of Ebonyi state Tuesday emerged the speaker of the 7th House of Assembly.

Oduwa who is serving his second term in the Assembly took over from Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru who is now the governor of the state.

Nwifuru left the Assembly immediately he won his election as the governor of the state thereby paving way for his deputy Kingsley Ikoro to act in that capacity.

Odunwa was nominated by Hon. Nkemka Okoro Onuma representing Afikpo South West constituency.

He later took oath of office at about 1:20 pm.

Also, Hon. Chinedu Ona of Ohaukwu South emerged the Deputy Speaker of the house.

He is also a second timer in the Assembly.

Nomination of the speaker and the deputy speaker was presided by the clerk of the House, Mrs. Mrs. Patricia Anasi.
