Breaking : Journalists shut out of Exco chambers as Buhari visits Ebonyi Gov

Journalists in Ebonyi state were a while ago denied access to Exco chambers of Ebonyi government house located in Abakaliki during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit.

The journalists in their numbers struggled to gain entrance to cover the courtesy visit to Governor David Umahi by the President Buhari but were told that Chief press secretary to the state governor Mr Emmanuel Uzor selected only ten journalists to cover the visit.

According to the security officials who were manning the doors of Exco chambers from Abuja: “we are waiting for the chief press secretary to bring the list of those who will enter. He told us that there were only ten of you.”

A source told blueprint that  security men with the president told the chief press that they did not want press coverage, only Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and radio Nigeria staff would be allowed.

But none of the said media houses from Ebonyi was allowed in.

Our Correspondent is still making efforts to speak to the governor’s Chief Press Secretary as at the time of filling this report.
