The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has postponed the Enugu East senatorial election till March 11, due to the murder of the Labour Party (LP), candidate, Barr. Oyibo Chukwu, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
This was confirmed by INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu during a press conference a while ago in Abuja.
He said the postponement was in line with the Electoral Act which gives the affected the stipulated 14-day period to replaced the deceased.
The Senatorial election will now take place alongside the governorship and state assembly elections.
