Breaking: INEC declares Kano governorship election inconclusive

After a long wait, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has just declared Kano governorship election inconclusive.

This followed the  cancellation of results  in 172 polling units across some Local government areas of Kano.

Making the announcement at exactly 10pm Monday night at the Headquarters of the Commission  in Kano, the returning officer for Kano State Prof. BB Shehu said the results cancelled in the 172 polling units include the most contentious Gama ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area  stood at the total of 228, 572.

According to him, the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf so far scored a total votes of 1,014274 while the incumbent governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje polled a total votes of 9,87,819 votes, and that the total votes cast stood at 2,184, 889.

The returning officer however stated that  the total registered votes stood at 2,135, 120 while  the total rejected votes was 49,761 .
