Fire, Tuesday morning, razed many shops at Bayan Tasha mini market in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.
Blueprint gathered that property worth millions of naira were destroyed as a result of the heavy inferno.
According to eyewitness, it took the intervention of fire service men to prevent the fire from escalating to nearby residential areas.
An official of the Yobe State Fire Service, told Blueprint Correspondent that, the fire was put out after they intercepted a distress call to avoid an escalation and more damage to property.
