Breaking – COVID-19: Reps pass economic stimulus Bill, shut down

Following the economic effects of the Coronavirus also known as COVID-19, the House of Representatives on Tuesday hurriedly passed an intervention Bill, with hope of cushioning the effects.

The bill was intended to grant some measure of temporary tax reliefs for corporate entities who keep their  employees in spite of economic effects of COVID-19, remove import duty on medicines and medical equipment related to curbing the spread of the virus.

The House has however shut down its plenary for 14 days. Announcing the shut down, Speakers Femi Gbajabiamila explained that the period was at the first instance.
