Breaking: Barau elected 10th Senate deputy President, Akpabio sworn-in

Senator Jibrin Barau has emerged as the Deputy President of the 10th Senate unopposed.

Barau was nominated by Senator David Umahi (APC Ebonyi South), seconded by Senator Saliu Mustapha (APC Kwara Central).

Meanwhile, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been sworn-in as the 13th Senate President on Tuesday morning.

His oath of office as Senate President, was administered by the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Magaji Tambuwal, at the senate chamber.

At the end of election exercise, Akpabio polled 63 votes out of the 109 votes cast.

Yari, a first-time Senator, scored 46 votes.
