Brazil 2014: NFSC plans fund-raising dinner

Determined to mobilize enough resources to send a large army of supporters to cheer Nigeria Super Eagles at the FIFA World Cup Finals which kick off in Brazil next month, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) will on Tuesay in Lagos host prominent Nigerians and corporate citizens to a dinner party tagged Fund Raising Dinner Towards Brazil 2014.

The event will hold at the prestigious Civic Center on Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and it is strictly by invitation.
According to the event manager’s spokesman, veteran sports journalist, Effiong Nyong, the Governor of Lagos state, Barr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, has accepted to be the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion,

Also, the ever charming President General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, JP had said that his group was looking forward to the event which, he said, would be used to raise the bulk of the fund needed to sponsor a large number of drummers, trumpeters and singers as well as other supporters to cheer the Super Eagles at every of their games in Brazil to ensure they feel at home away from home.

Said he: “We are expecting a good turn-out of invited guests which include top government functionaries, prominent individuals, corporate citizens and some members of the diplomatic community. We have no doubt in our minds that we will have a full house.”
Oladipo, however, revealed that the supporters club had concluded plans to honour selected personalities with the highly Patron Award at the occasion.
