Borno empowers 162 women, girls with vocational skills  

 

The First Lady of Borno state, Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum,   Monday commended 162 graduates of Skills Acquisition  School,  Bolori II, for their dedication and resilience.

In her message delivered by Hajiya  Maryam Gimba, the director of the Multi Aid Charity Initiative  encouraged the graduates  to  cater for themselves in order to be empowered, self reliant to themselves and be useful and productive.

She said,  “These skills will empower you to become independent and contribute to the economic growth of our state.”

The Borno state Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation Monday, graduated 162 women and girls who successfully completed their second phase of the Second Chance Women/Girls’ Skills Program. 

The event  which took place at the skills Acquisition School Ngarranam, Bolori II, Maiduguri, was the  initiative  of the Borno state government which is a significant step towards empowering women and girls, particularly those who missed formal education or are internally displaced.

The program also aims to foster economic growth.

The Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation stated that the program aligns with Governor Zulum’s vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Borno state.
