Borno: Council chair thumbs up Zulum over developmental strides

The Borno state governor, Professor Baba Gana Zulum, has again received commendation for his developmental strides in the state.

The executive chairman Shani area council, Borno state, Alhaji Hassan Abdu Labaki, who gave the commendation in a press release made available to Blueprint newspapers in Abuja listed some of his achievements as Human capital development, infrastructure provisions, fight against insurgency and raising standard of education.

Others are housing and urban development, building of ultra modern market in Shani, in the state, construction of trucks B and township roads in Shani, and the 27 area councils, among others.

While applauding the establishment of the NEDC (North East development commission) under the leadership of the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima further urged the governor to help construct the Shani Kwaya Kusar/ Biu road so that dividends if democracy can further trickle down to the grassroots.

On the annual ‘MENWARA’ traditional festival organized by the Shanni emirate, urged the state government to make it national and international annual event so that the ministry of tourism in the meantime will prioritise it.

While lauding the leadership style of the governor, he urged the youth of the state to reciprocate the governors gesture by obeying law and orders, shun drugs and engage in the various enterpriunship and skill acquisition programme of the government for self reliance.
