Boko Haram takes over police academy in Borno

Sequel to the taking over of Gwoza town and even Gwoza local government Area of Borno state by the Boko Haram insurgents since the last two weeks and the subsequent fight that erupted between them and the military forces last Tuesday and Wednesday in some other local government areas of Borno state, the Boko Haram insurgents have finally taken over the famous Nigerian Police Mobile Training Camp at Limankara village few kilometers away from Gwoza town.

Limankara community is located south of Gwoza town at  about 16 kilometres from Gwoza  town where the Police Mobile training camp I also located  and trains police officers and men from all parts of the country on combatant training  in the middle of hills and valleys.
A reliable source told our correspondent that: “The terrorists who coincidentally engaged military troops with sophisticated weapons of mass destruction succeeded in chasing away security personnel undergoing training at the camp and took over by hoisting their flags yesterday at the camp, as the security operatives at the camp ran away on top of mountains for safety.”

When contacted for confirmation, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Gideon Jubrin, said he was not in the office throughout the day as he was busy attending to “some important security issues.”
He, however, promised to verify the authenticity of the incident from relevant authorities and get back to our correspondent before going to press.”
