Some members of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are threatening to pull out of the party if President Muhammadu Buhari refuses to correct the recent board appointments which they described as ‘lopsided’.
The league on the platform of Great Nigeria Group (GNG), mostly members of the defunct ANPP, described the board appointments as unfair representation in the ruling APC.
A statement sent to Blueprint yesterday by the league’s National President, Dr. Umar Duhu, said no single former ANPP member was listed in the boards and parastatals announced by President Buhari.
“This is completely unacceptable and as leaders, we have started reviewing our continuous stay in the APC, since our relevance is neither recognised nor needed.
“The thing is that, we are not happy and might take a decision which might be adverse to our corporate existence as APC members.
“The neglect and unfair representation in the APC which we as former ANPP members were to second largest partners in the merger is overwhelming and we will no longer keep quiet. This also negates the principles of fairness and fatherly leadership expected of President Buhari.”
Duhu also accused the President of appointing current member of PDP in Adamawa state.
“Do you know that even current PDP member from Adamawa state (Mr. Yakubu Tsalla) who recently decamped with Atiku Abubakar, is on the board appointment?” he querried.
