The Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, has warned the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on the issue of the ongoing industrial action, to direct its blame to the past administration.
Shehu, while responding to questions on channels Television, accused the Goodluck Jonathan’s regime of signing agreement “which they had no capacity to deliver”
He said, “There are problems with the education sectors and President Buhari is working towards solving their problems.
“This is six months or more of the ongoing strike. Is it right for anyone to insist on taking 100% of all of those grievances that they have?
“Don’t forget that ASUU is fighting for a 2009 agreements which they signed with the past governments that they had no capacity to deliver and they have passed it from one government to another government.
“So why is Buhari held by the neck? Something that happened in the past. Why didn’t they strangle those past administrations on these matters?”
