The feud between Governor Muhammadu Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa state and his predecessor, Murtala Nyako, has assumed a new dimension with Bindow threatening to sign a white paper indicting the Nyako administration.
Addressing a new political support group, Team Bindow, who paid him a solidarity visit yesterday, Bindow said he had had enough of efforts by the Nyako group to frustrate his administration.
Bindow, who spoke in Hausa, said already there was a White Paper before him from the Late Justice Bobboi Umar Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up by Alhaji Umar Fintiri who served as Acting Governor that had indicted the Nyako administration.
“I have a white paper before me indicting that administration which I don’t want to sign but if pushed to the wall I will sign it.
“Many people are urging me to sign, but I am reluctant,” he said.
The governor said his administration awarded a 5.7-kilometre road contract with drainage in Yola metropolis at the cost of N692 million, while similar contract of 4.3 kilometres in the metropolis was awarded by Nyako administration at the cost of N2.6 billion.
“I recently awarded contract for the 37-kilometre Kiri- Shelleng road at the cost of N3.2 billion while Nyako administration awarded the 37 kilometres Pela – Maiha road contract at the cost of N9.3 billion.”
The governor alleged that in an attempt to blackmail him, some Nyako supporters had resorted to digging holes in the roads he constructed to give the public the impression that his roads were sub-standard.
“Somebody was seen in the midnight digging holes on Yola bye-pass road to give the impression that the roads are sub-standard.
“They will snap pictures of the damaged roads and put it on Facebook to blackmail me.”
He lauded the group for their confidence in him and said his emergence as governor was the popular wish of the people and he was set to work for the people.
He called for prayers from Adamawa people against his traducers, saying that whoever was against his administration was against Adamawa people.
Earlier, various speakers from the Team Bindow that spoke, said the group which comprised 200 associations came on solidarity to declare their support to his administration for it selfless service to the electorate.
