Bida cleric urges special prayers for Nigeria at Maulud

Chief Imam of Bida in Niger state, Sheikh Adamu Liman-Yakatun, has appealed to Muslims in the country to use Maulud period to offer special prayers for the peace, unity and progress of the nation.
Liman-Yakatun made the appeal recently in Busu, Lavun local government area of Niger state during the Maulud celebrations to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SWA) organised by Alhaji Muhammad Baba Busu.
He enjoined Muslim faithful to follow the exemplary leadership of the Holy prophet by promoting peaceful coexistence.
“The Holy prophet of Islam was a man of peace and he shared the message of peace, love and understanding through the religion of Islam throughout his life time. Maulud is not only for merry making, but a time to emulate what Prophet Muhammad (SWA) was sent by Almighty God to come and do,” he said.
Liman-Yakatun said as Muslims who were sincere in their faith we are supposed to follow all that prophet of Islam preach and teach.
He said Prophet Muhammad preached peace, love and unity “and as true followers of Islam, we suppose to emulate the same thing so that we can enjoy blessings of God Almighty here and in the in the hereafter.”
The cleric said “peace and unity are veritable tools for national development; so, Nigerians must strive to maintain them for the nation to move forward.”
Liman-Yakun also offered special prayers for President Buhari for sustainable peace, unity and socio-economic prosperity of the country.
In the same vein, prayers were also offered for the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris, officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as other security agents with the view to succeeding in further securing lives and property of Nigerians.
He charged youths to avoid tendencies that would jeopardise their future, advising them to “live a life of moral integrity” to enable them to secure better future.
