BERWASA boss, 12 others get American varsity honours

General Manager, Benue state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (BERWASA), Engr. Ejembi Candidus Ella, and 12 other Nigerians have been awarded with Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration by the Janus University, California, U.S.A.
Blueprint gathered that the award which was conferred on them at the just- concluded Afri World Conference, organised by Afri World Magazine for distinguishing themselves in the service of humanity, took place at the weekend at the Federal Capital Territory Education Resource Centre, Abuja.
Others recipients of the award were the Chief Executive Officer, Foundation for Peace, Economic and Agricultural Transformation, Alhaji Malik Audu, and Editor-in-Chief, Afri World Magazine, Fred Orinya, Prince Edwin Ochai, Engr. Kolawole Balogun, Chairman, Memmcol Nigeria Limited, Hon. Abubakar Yunusa Ahmed, Reverend Shekwonya Ibrahim Jezhi, ECWA Church, among others.
In an interview with this reporter at the event, the National Coordinator of Academic Evaluation and Assessors (WAAEA), the body that coordinates the affairs of the institution in Africa, Prof. L. A. Adeyemi, said the nomination was unanimous endorsement of the Senate of the Janus University, Califonia, USA, the governing council of the Joint University Standard Evaluation Council, as well as the World Association of Academic Evaluation and Assessors.
“This is in view of their immeasurable contributions towards the upliftment of their society by making life meaningful for the less privileged members of the society. Beyond this, it is on record that they are a strong proponent of good governance in African Leadership vis-a vis their selfless service to humanity,” he said.
Also speaking, in an interview with this reporter, the Editor in Chief, Afri World Magazine, Fred Orinya, said the event was the second phase of the continental conference held earlier on November 4, this year, in Abuja.
“We are now awarding men that have done so well in their various field with Honorary Doctorate Degree upon the authorisation we have from Janus University, and the regional coordinator of the organised body in Africa,” he said.
In their respective remarks, after receiving their awards, the honorees expressed gratitude to God for the honour and promised to do more towards the development of the country.
“I have been motivated to do even more for people, especially in the areas of building capacity, assistance to enable the youth and the downtrodden to grow and give them succour. By the virtue of the position I find myself, I am already doing that and I will continue to do so,” one of them, Engr. Ejembi Ella, said.
