Benue state Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, weekend officially launched 5000 officers of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards (BSCPG) to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in the state.

The governor also donated 100 Hilux vehicles and 600 special combatant motorcycles to security agencies in the state.

Additionally, he launched Operation “Anyam Nyor” Joint Security Task Force, a comprehensive security collaboration involving the Nigerian Army, Navy, Police, Department of State Services, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Governor Alia expressed his commitment to prioritising security, stating that stability is crucial for meaningful development.

He also acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and the Inspector-General of Police.

The governor urged the 5000 officers of the BSCPG to embody professionalism and ethics in their duties, and called on the people of Benue state to take advantage of the Amnesty Programme before the full deployment of the Joint Task Force.
