Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has sworn in two new Sharia Court Judges ( Khadi), pledging to continue to support the state judiciary with the upgrade of facilities in courts across the state.
The judges sworn in by the governor are Alhaji Ismaila Musa and Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi as new Khadi.
Bello said the appointments were necessitated by the vacuum created in the Sharia courts in the state over the years.
He said Sharia cases had stayed in the courts for years and months “because of the vacuum created by lack of Sharia Court Judges (Khadi),” adding that by the new appointments, the cases pending would be attended to.
He urged the new Khadi to try as much as possible to live within their constitutional roles as government would try as must as possible to assist them to settle down quickly for the works ahead of them.
The Governor said as human beings they were bound to make mistakes “because God is the best judge,” but that the people would continue to put the Khadi in prayer for them to do their best for them.
