Beckham, Neville brothers enjoy birthday bash in Paris

Manchester United gear up for Sunday’s EFL Cup fi nal against Southampton, three of the club’s former stalwarts got together for a celebration in Paris. United legends David Beckham and the Neville brothers enjoyed a night out in the French capital, with Beckham’s best friend Dave Gardner also present, to celebrate Phil’s 40th birthday.

Former United and Everton midfi elder Phil Neville, who turned the big 4.0. on January 21, shared an image of the quartet on his Instagram account with the caption: ‘Paris with friends’. Th e city holds good memories for Beckham who enjoyed a season-long stint with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-German back in 2013.

Th e trio all enjoyed long and fruitful careers at Old Traff ord. Beckham made 394 appearances for the club between 1993-2003, wining six Premier League titles as well as that famous Champions League triumph in 1998.

Th e Neville brothers made a combined 865 appearances in the famous red jersey. Beckham enjoyed a globetrotting late career taking in stints at Real Madrid, AC Milan, PSG and LA Galaxy while Phil Neville would move on for an eight-season spell at Everton. Gary Neville, however, was a one-club man making 602 appearances for United between 1992 and 2011.

In a week where Wayne Rooney agreed to remain with United until the end of the season, after being linked with a lucrative move to China, Gary Neville implored the legendary striker to stick it out at Old Traff ord. ‘Despite the interest which has been shown from other clubs, for which I’m grateful,’ Rooney announced earlier this week. ‘I want to end recent speculation and say that I am staying at Manchester United. ‘I hope I will play a full part in helping the team in its fi ght for success on four fronts. ‘It’s an exciting time at the club and I want to remain a part of it.’
