Bauchi to conclude 2020 budget before November 30 – Commissioner

Bauchi state Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Aminu Gamawa, has said the state government will soon conclude its preparations on the 2020 budget.

Gamawa was speaking when he featured in a phone-in programme tagged Tafiya Da Gwani presented by Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) Tuesday.

The commissioner said  after the ministry concludes its assignment, it will forward the budget to Governor Bala Mohammed and the State Executive Council for inputs before presentation to the state House of Assembly.

He promised that there will also be a public hearing and town hall meeting across the state to get the inputs of the general public.

According to him, the present administration will ensure early presentation of the 2020 budget to the state House of Assembly in order to ensure its timely passage for execution of developmental projects.

“Already, the state government has designed a midterm expenditure framework on the priority areas of the administration and a robust fiscal strategy paper.

“As you are aware, the priority areas of the administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed are in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment,” Gamawa said.
