Bauchi: 17th Emir of Ningi emerges

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdülkadir Mohammed has approved the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, as the 17th Emir of Ningi.

The new Emir of Ningi is the first son of late Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya who died at 88.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Mohammed, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.

“This decision is in exercising the powers conferred on him by Cap. 24 Item 3 (1 ) of the laws of Bauchi State of Nigeria ( Appointment of Emirs / Chiefs and Deposition 1991 ) and the recommendation of the kingmakers.” it stated

“The appointment was conveyed in a latter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government , Barr İbrahim Mohammed Kashim.”

Governor Mohammed expressed confidence in the ability of the new Emir’s to carry on the legacy of his late father in promoting unity, peace, and development in the Emirate and Bauchi State as a whole.

“Bauchi State Government under the inspirational leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed remains committed to supporting the traditional institutions in the state as they play a crucial role in maintaining peace and progress in our communities,” It the statement added..

Governor Mohammed prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Emir’s soul extends his warm felicitations and prayers for good health , long life and successful reign of the new First Class Emir, the statement concluded.

Recall that late Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya died on Sunday, 25th of August, 2024 and was buried same day in line with Islamic injunctions during which the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir made it public that the late Emir had wished and pleaded that his successor should come from the Royal family.
