Bandits in their large number blocked the Gusau-Sokoto major highway along Gidan Kano village Monday and kidnapped many travelers, including the officer in charge of Talata Mafara local government area of the state community development, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Ɗan Asabe.
Report indicates that Alhaji Dan Asabe was on his way to Talata Mafara his home town from Gusau when the incident happened.
The bandits who kidnapped him were said to have communicated his relatives that they killed him 20 hours after kidnapping him and directed the family to go to the place where they dumped his body and pick him for burial.
Management team and entire staff of the Zamfara State Community and Social Development Agency headed by its General Manager, Umar Muhammad Nakwada, have condoled with the deceased’s family and the entire people of Mafara emirate council on his death.
A statement signed by the public relations officer of the agency, Kabir Ibrahim Mayanchi, stated that the general manager, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Nakwada, described the death of Ɗan Asabe as a great loss, not only to his family and people of Mafara local government, but the entire community.
