Bandits kill 4, injure 20 in Zamfara

At least four persons were reportedly killed yesterday   and over 20 others sustained various degrees of injuries in an attack carried out by bandits suspected to be cattle rustlers in Maberiya village in Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara state.
According to a source the attack, which was carried out in the early hours of yesterday  scared  the people of the village as the armed bandits, on getting to the village, began shooting sporadically at all directions,  which made the villagers to  run for their lives.
“The attack has brought us tears and sorrows as many of brothers were killed and injured during the deadly raid by the bandits,” he lamented.

Another eye witness said the heinous attack by the bandits made escape difficult for the villagers as all routes leading to the village were blocked during the attack which lasted over two hours.
When contacted, the Zamfara state deputy commissioner of Police (DCP), Mr. Usman Nagoggo, described the attack bandits as heartless, but assured that the Police would not rest on it oars until all the perpetrators were arrested and prosecuted.
“The Police in the state working round the clock to get rid of all criminal activities in the state and make the state no go area for all those with criminal tendencies,” he said.
