Bandits have abducted two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state along Manini in Birnin Gwari Local Governments Area (LGA) of the state on their way back from attending the inauguration of Governor Uba Sani.
According to the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, who made this known in Kaduna on Wednesday, the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two APC women leaders including dozens of other travellers on the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari highway.
He said the kidnapped women leaders are Birnin Gwari APC women leader, Hajiya Lami Awarware and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu.
Speaking further, Kasai said immediately the victims were kidnapped on Tuesday, the kidnappers took them to the forest. He however added that the abductors are yet to contact the families of the victims or any person in the area.
Blueprint recalls that two days ago, BEPU had congratulated President Bola Tinubu, while pleading with him to end the insecurity bedeviling Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
As at the time of filling the report, neither the Kaduna state government nor the Kaduna state Police Command has issued a statement on the development.
