The appointment of Dr Suleiman Balarabe as the provost of Federal College of Education, FCE, Zaria, Kaduna state in 2022 by the immediate-past President Muhammadu Buhari government in was greeted with excitement. Though, his predecessors did their best, the second year anniversary of Dr Balarabe can be celebrated in grand style.
His passion for the development of FCE Zaria is visible and amazing. The provost has transformed the college in various aspects of educational development. Any student who left the institution in the past two years and returned to further his studies will see the remarkable achievements recorded by the provost.
When he came on board, Dr Balarabe was disturbed by the poor condition of female hostel in the college. He quickly awarded the contract for the total rehabilitation of the hostel. The hostel is now wearing a good look. Toilets and bathrooms are in good shape.The students can live comfortably in a hygienic environment devoid of diseases.
In a bid to improve the general security of the college, Dr Balarabe built fence. The college is now fully secure.
To his credit, the provost set up new CBT and additional science laboratory to enhance learning among the students.
In order to improve sports and hunt talents among the students, he rehabilitated the sports complex. The provost has also carried out numerous projects
For the provost to achieve these exceptional milestone within the period of two years with little resources at his disposal calls for celebration. There is no gainsaying the fact that FCE Zaria has become a reference point under the able leadership of Dr Suleiman Balarabe. He has carved a niche for himself not only as an academic of great repute but also an achiever par excellence.
Before he completes his tenure, one expects a college that will become an envy to other institutions of learning in the area of learning, discipline and infrastructural development. Sir, these giant strides recorded by you within a short period of two years did not come to us as surprise. For those of us who know your antecedent, we foresaw these achievements. Sir, congratulations on your second year anniversary at the helm of affairs of this great institution.
