Bala launches farming with N2bn purchase of raw-materials

 

The Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, Tuesday launched the sales of fertilizer for the 2023/2024 farming season with two billion naira committed for the purchase of raw-materials to produce fertilizer for the farming season.

At the launching of the sales of fertilizer for the farming season held at BSADP office in Azare, headquarters of Katagum local government area of the state, the governor said already his administration has settled all the outstanding debt to the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority.

He said the state government has also committed some funds to the maintenance of the Bauchi Fertilizer Blending Company to ensure seamless production of the commodity and added that, the consistency in conducting annual sales of fertilizer and farming season is a clear manifestation of the desire of his government to invigorate the agricultural sector for the social and economic development of the state.

He said in an effort to diversify the economy of the state and ensure food security, agricultural sector would continue to be given the priority it deserves as agriculture is the main source of livelihood of the majority of the people of the state, especially those in the rural areas. 

“It is to the glory of Allah (SWT) that we are gathered here today to launch the rainy season farming and flag-off the sales of fertilizer for the 2023/2024 farming season.”
