Bala directs agencies without enabling laws to revert to dept

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has directed that all FCT Agencies without enabling laws be reverted back to departments until the National Assembly enacts appropriate law.

He said also that the final engineering design of some designated Land Swap districts by nine developers have been completed checked and approved
The minister said this yesterday during FCT Operations Briefing Session at Life-Camp, Abuja, adding that the final engineering designs of these districts underway are preparatory for its ground breaking.
According to him, these new districts coming on board, would assist in unbundling land and reduce housing deficit across the FCT.
Senator Mohammed said FCT Administration has embarked on the extension of Water Supply to Abuja Technology Village and Private Developers’ Housing Estates to fast-track development in these areas.

According to him, FCT Administration is also providing primary roads to mass housing areas (Road S30) to make such places more habitable.
He said five out of six roads under resurfacing of existing roads in Wuse I District are completed and handed over to the FCT Administration.
The minister further said that the final engineering design production of Tender Documents for Interceptor Sewer Schedule V for Kaura, Duboyi and other districts of Phases II & III of the Federal Capital City, Abuja is completed.
“There are 21nos ongoing consultancies for the final designs, 3nos ongoing Resident Supervision for Airport, ONEX and B6/B12 and 3nos ongoing Consultancy Projects for subsoil and Geophysical Survey in some districts of Phase II,” he added.
