Bago salutes Etsu Nupe @72, 21 years on throne

Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger state Thursday congratulated the Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on his 21 years on the throne and 72nd birthday.

The governor’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued in Minna by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.

Bago appreciated Allah for all His mercies and kindness in the life of the revered traditional leader of the Nupe Kingdom.

He commended the fatherly role that the 13th Etsu Nupe has been playing, not just among the Nupe-speaking people but the entire nation.

The governor, who is also a farmer, observed that the unity and high cultural values among his subjects speak volumes of his purposeful leadership.

He said the Etsu Nupe has done a lot to promote, strengthen and sustain the age-long rich cultural heritage of the Nupe Kingdom.

He noted that the reign of the Etsu Nupe has tremendously impacted positively on not only his subjects but also diverse Nigerians around his kingdom.

Bago eulogised the traditional ruler, describing him as a bridge-builder, selfless, determined and caring leader, who always stands by his people.

He hailed the celebrant for leading other traditional rulers in the state to support policies and programmes of the present administration at all levels.
