Badaru urges transport unions to work together

Jigawa state governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has appealed to the National Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to sheath their swords and work together.

According to the governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner of Works, Aminu Muhammed Gumel, government had done a lot to improve the transport system in the state.

Badaru, who was speaking during the inauguration of the state NARTO exco, said “state government has good policies on agriculture, economic, water and transportation across the state.”

He said the state government had assisted transporters with vehicles on loan, which should be paid at the appropriate time.

He said since inception “we have commissioned 1,021 kilometres of roads and soon we will commission more roads”.

Also speaking, the chairman-elect, Alhaji Bello Usman Dunari, promised to comply with all rules and regulations of the association in the interest of all.
