Azeez vows to fight for World Cup shirt

Ramon Azeez has promised to fight to make Nigeria’s final squad to the World Cup in Brazil.
The Almeria midfielder told only AfricanFootball.com he hopes to help his club stay up in the Spanish La Liga after which he will focus on getting into 23-man squad for the World Cup Finals.

“We’re still fighting for our lives in the league. We hope we survive and after which I will take a short break and then get set to fight for my place at the World Cup.”

The former Flying Eagles skipper made his full international debut against Mexico earlier this year.
It was a reward for his consistency at Almeria this season.

He has been named in Nigeria 30-man provisional squad for Brazil 2014 and will be in direct confrontation with Lazio ace Ogenyi Onazi and Sunday Mba to be on the flight to Brazil.
Incidentally, Azeez kept out Onazi from both the Golden Eaglets Class of 2009 as well as the Flying Eagles Class of 2011.
