The APC Young Stakeholders (AYS) has described as “huge blessing” the emergence of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking to newsmen shortly after a meeting of the group in Abuja yesterday to review the advocacy activities, the spokesman of AYS, Comrade Dominic Alancha, said Oshiomhole’s leadership will heal the festering wound arising from bad politics, particularly from the new PDP members in the ruling APC.
“We have confidence Comrade Oshiomhole will do well.Indeed, with his emergence as the party’s national chairman, the coast our party’s victory in 2019 is now clear.
“Oshiomole represents the dynamism needed by the APC to be a leading political light in Africa and we as young people will rally round him and all genuine lovers of our great party for the needed success ahead,” he said.
Comrade Alancha further thanked party leaders and delegates to the recent convention and reaffirmed the profound commitment and support of AYS to the success of Oshiomole’s administration. He added that the group has a target of mobilising 70 per cent of Nigerian youths into the Oshiomole-led APC between now and January 2019.
Describing Oshiomhole’s election as a call to cleanse and reposition the party to answer its name as a true progressive party, he added that, “The new chairman who understands the problem rocking the party over time, while making his acceptance speech, displayed sufficient knowledge of our problem and spoke to it.
“Oshiomhole emphasised the need for internal democracy within the party and commitment from all members of the party. He was very clear when he said that the crisis in some state chapters of the party will be addressed and a win-win status will be achieved, saying it is time to do away with arrogance.”
