Atiku’s defection, good for democracy – Zurmi

A former national chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Alhaji Hassan Zurmi, has described the decision of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the All Progressives Congress(APC) as the best for Nigerian democracy.
Speaking to Blueprint in Gusau, Zamfara state capital, Zurmi noted that Abubakar is a democrat to core and ardent supporter of Nigeria’s unity.
Zurmi who is now a member of the Zamfara state executive council, said the defection of Abubakar to the APC would strengthen the opposition’s democratic tenet.
“Atiku Abubakar is a politician of repute with vast experience and connections in political circles and more so have interest of the country at heart”, he added.
He, therefore, advised leaders of the APC to  close ranks and support the course of saving Nigeria from the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) in the 2015 general elections.
