Army trains, empowers women, youth in Yola

The 23 Army Brigade command Yola Tuesday, distributed starter packs to wives and children of its officers and men as well as her host community who completed various empowerment training in its entrepreneurship and skills acquisition centres in order to make them self-reliance.

Speaking at the flagging off of the distribution in yola, the brigade commander Brig. Gen. Sani Garba Mohammed said the programme is in line with the commitments of the chief of Army Staff LT. Gen. Tukur Buratai and the command to better the lots of its officers and their families.

He assured that the Nigerian army will continued to give priority to the welfare and well-being of its officers and their families, saying the training is aimed at improving their living conditions and maintaining cordial relationship with barracks community.

He said 77 beneficiaries enrolled into the trainings out of which 53 were given starter packs each to make them self-reliance in order to support themselves and their families.
