Army sensitises religious leaders on security in Borno

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.
General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has disclosed the Nigerian Army has come up with many strategies to ensure that there is security in the country with the support of the President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buratai stated this yesterday in Maiduguri during the fl aggingoff of “Counter Narrative Against Insurgents Ideologies and Reorientation Campaign” organised by the Army Headquarters , Department of Civil Military Aff airs and Religious Enlightenment Forum held at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Government House Maiduguri.
According to him, a lot had been achieved in terms of security, peace and eradication as well as deradicalisation of insurgents and the Nigerian Army was boosted on Sunday, 1st October, 2017 with the coming of Mr.
President to Maiduguri to visit and celebrate with the Nigerian troops.

Ahmadu, added that the President had commented on the strategic situations on Sunday while the Nigerian Army would ensure that peace was restored permanently to the state and region.
He also enjoined all the traditional rulers, clergymen and other stakeholders to put their hands together, to come together, to put their diff erences aside and build a united Borno.
“Nobody will come and put your house in order for you.
You have to start putting your house in order fi rst before someone will come and assist you put it in order.
Nobody will bring peace to your house fi rst.
It is you that will do it for yourself then others do it for you”, Buratai said.
Buratai thanked Governor Kashim Shettima for his support to the Nigerian army and assured that the Nigerian army will continue to do everything possible to put the state in border within the operational and engagement rules
